Meghan Keaney (Hubspot) | TNW Convention | Why chances are you’ll not acknowledge search engine marketing in 5 years

Where we once had one dominant search engine and type, we now have a myriad. Where we once had one SEO playbook, we now have a collection. A decade ago optimizing for search engines was primarily about keywords and inbound links. Over the last few years search engine rankings have become more sophisticated, wrapping in factors like website security and mobile readiness among other things. We marketers have gotten quite good at evolving our playbooks when it comes to SEO. But the changes we’ve seen to this point? They’re nothing compared to what’s coming next. This talk will focus on a new era of search – one which is expanding to include mobile apps, social channels, voice-search and personal assistants. It will address the way that content discovery is changing and how we’ll need to learn to optimize for it.
