In this video I show you why exact match domains (EMD’s) matter when it comes to SEO. Google have often said that they discount a domain keyword matching a particular search phrase and that exact match domains don’t make a difference to how Google sees a website.
However, it’s clear that this isn’t true and as usual, Google say one thing and do something else with their algorithm. From an SEO point of view, exact match domains still hope some weight. Spammy websites with EMDs will still rank for a number of given keywords.
Your business could probably take advantage of the easy to rank keywords that are available to start driving traffic to your website. From an SEO point of view, there’s no harm in picking up extra traffic, especially from a branding point of view.
