One simple secret for boosting conversions with Google Ads!

Hi, I’m Sam Fields from Matter Solutions and you’re wondering if this video is legitimately going to give you one simple secret that will help you increase conversions, or if I am a charlatan.

I’m going to have to explain this deeper so you’ll have to stick around and listen to me make bad dad jokes, so get comfortable, hit that subscribe and like button and poise your fingers over the keyboard ready to type c-h-a-c-h-i-n-g in the comments below.

Okay, here it is: to drastically increase your conversions, just make a Goal in Analytics that triggers when someone visits your Home Page and import it into your Google Ads Account as a Conversion.

You’d be surprised how often I have seen this happen, or variations of this, people having Conversions set up on random pages on their website either through accident, or some misguided recommendations, sometimes from Google directly.

Sometimes setting up a Goal for views of Key Pages on your website is necessary, I had a client who wanted to show their advertisers that a particular page was regularly visited on their site and wanted a premium for the advertising space, so they made a Goal on that page.

With that client, we didn’t include that Goal in the Conversions for their Google Ads, it was a very specific goal for a very specific purpose and didn’t have anything to do with selling their actual products

So unless the Key page is the Thank You page for someone making a purchase or enquiry, make sure you’re not counting Key page Goals as Conversions in your Google Ads account.

How is this “ONE SIMPLE SECRET” going to help you increase your Conversions? With clear and usable data you are able to make significantly better decisions about where you should be allocating your Budget.

Whether it be a particular Keyword, day of week, time of day, or your Ad Text messaging, knowing which ones are resulting in leads and sales for your business means you can spend more on those while simultaneously spending less on those that aren’t converting.
