A question from a viewer: “Should I use Google stacking/Google stacks for better local SEO? We’ve seen offers from SEO companies that say this will help us rank better.” Google Stacks are a variation on the “Web 2.0” link manipulation technique. In the old method, instead of building spammy links from Private Blog Networks and article farms directly to your money site, you point those links at Web 2.0 properties that pass PageRank (Blogspot, Wix, Weebly, WordPress.com, Squidoo) then build links from those to the money site.
This is supposed to act as a “buffer” between the potentially spammy site and your main site.
In the Google stacking scheme, instead of regular “2.0s” you use Google properties instead. (Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Sites, Blogger, etc).
This is a link scheme built on a foundation of shifting sand. Not recommended.
