Hyeon-Seo Lee, a North Korean defector, now living in South Korea. She is currently a sophomore majoring in Chinese and English at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. After leaving North Korea she lived in China and then came to South Korea in 2008. She is currently a student journalist at the Ministry of Unification and a Young Leader at the Pacific Forum CSIS. Hyeon-Seo Lee is interested in international relations and politics, and in the future she wants to be a journalist focusing on reunification and North Korean refugee issues.
