The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold its third day of Supreme Court confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett on Oct. 14. President Trump’s nominee will undergo a public vetting before 22 senators, an audience of friendly Republicans and extremely critical Democrats.
Barrett’s conservative legal views and her closeness to her former boss and mentor, the conservative icon Justice Antonin Scalia, have raised concerns from Democrats that she will push the court further to the right in ways that could be difficult to reverse for years or even decades.
