With this tool, you will be able to:
Find all your backlinks using the search console integration.
Rate them and remove or disavow low-quality ones.
And be aware of your progress by performing regular recrawls.
Setup
Let’s configure the tool.
Step 1: Choose the domain type to let the tool pull out the most accurate results.
Step 2: Enter your official brand name if needed. It will help SEMrush define brand anchors.
Step 3: Specify the categories your domain is associated with. It will help SEMrush identify bad-quality backlinks.
Step 4: Select your target countries.
We recommend that you connect your Google Search Console account if you want to have a more detailed audit of your backlinks. Backlink Audit will analyze your backlinks and evaluate toxic scores for each of them.
“Overview” tab
The overview page provides you with the main information like the number of referring domains and new, lost and total backlinks, the distribution of audited backlinks by toxic score, overall toxic score etc.
“Audit” tab
Go to the “Audit” tab to see the list of your backlinks. There you can check their toxic score and toxic markers they triggered. Though the toxic score is trustworthy, you still need to consider and classify every link by yourself.
If a backlink is good, move it to the “Whitelist”.
If you are sure that a certain link is low-quality, send it directly to the “Disavow” list. You can export this list to a file and upload it to the Google Disavow Tool afterwards.
If you want to try to contact a website owner prior to disavowing a link, add it to the “Remove” list.
If you are not sure of a link’s quality, add it to the suspend list.
“Lost and Found” tab
The “Lost and Found” report allows you to monitor your progress. It shows all your new backlinks as well those that disappeared within the last month. By checking the ‘new’ checkbox you can also see links from the domains where you’ve never had a link before. Then, you can see all the links leading from the broken pages under the ‘Broken’ section.you can find the domains with no more links leading to you. In the ‘Lost’ section, you’ll find the domains where you don’t have backlinks anymore.
